Student Model of the UN Security Council – Historical simulation

Within the frame of Security Council session one-day simulation we organise in cooperation with the UN Information Centre Prague, we prepared a news for you: a Historical simulation! Come and try the role of a UN Ambassador, brand new Rules of Procedure, or as an experienced delegate go in for one of the Great Powers and lead other countries with your initiative.

(The fee includes printed materials crucial for the topic, refreshement during coffee breaks, lunch in the premises of the Centre, and a “bottomless cup” for the selection of cold and hot drinks during the whole day.)

The topic of the historical simulation is “Complaint regarding agression against the Republic of Korea“:
The Republic of Korea, at the crack of dawn on 25th June 1950, was attacked by the North Korea troops, which trespassed the 38th parallel accompanied by cannonade. Later that day this act was labelled as an invasion by the United Nations, which calls for an immediate cease-fire. Subsequent UN Security Council session adopts resolution no. 83, by means of which it appeals for end of the fights and withdrawal of the North Korea troops back to the 38th parallel. With no result.
Ten days later you sit in Lake Success, the temporary seat of the UN, with other members of the Security Council in order to ward off the first greater crisis of the beginning Cold War. The seriousness of the situation is punctuated by the arrival of the Soviet Union delegation, which has boycotted the Council sessions as yet…
